1869 Hotel - Ambleside

Excellent place with reliable wi-fi, tv, and electric kettle. I appreciated the staff's help when I lost my documents during my first stay. I highly recommend it for a comfortable experience!

The room was brand-new & stylish, came with a comfortable chair, a lovely view, comfy bed. The unbeatable and fab central location was quite close to St Mary's Church.

The location is excellent. Breakfast was consistently well-prepared and offered a good variety, catering to my dietary preferences. I found the parking situation to be a bit challenging, particularly due to the steep access road, and it would have been better if dogs were allowed in the breakfast area on all occasions.

This place is an excellent boutique hotel right in the heart of ambleside, and we had a lovely beautiful king room ensuite that was well appointed. We really loved how helpful the owners were when we faced issues with the extreme weather, and they even offered discounted extra nights which was super nice. The location is perfect for exploring the area, and breakfast was realy good and made to order. Def recommend for a cozy stay!

The parking is a bit tight and tricky to maneuvere, especially at night. The ensuite was a bit small for my taste.

The stylish decor and luxurious touches made our stay special. Enjoying breakfast with a view over the mountains each morning was a good highlight.

Spent a lovely weekend here and loved the cozy atmosphere with a great breakfast and comfy beds. The garden area was perfect for relaxing with a coffee, and the TV room was a nice touch when we wanted to unwind. Just a heads up, the bathroom situation might be a little different than expected, but it didn't really take away from our experience. 😊

The highlight was definitely the breakfast, with locally sourced ingredients, tailored to my preferences every morning. The location was convenient for exploring Ambleside, though parking could be a challenge for less confident drivers.

The Beautiful King Room Ensuite featured a modern en-suite and stylish decor. The amenities included high-quality linens and thoughtful touches, contributing to a comfortable atmosphere.

Finding the hotel proved a bit of a maze, particularly due to the complicated parking situation and one-way systems in the area. Inside the room, while mostly clean, the towel rack was dusty, and both the room and bathroom doors showed signs of wear with one lock broken. Noise from neighbors banging doors carried through thin walls, impacting nighttime sleep quality. Communication regarding check-in procedures felt cumbersome, compounded by an absence of a contact method like WhatsApp for help, especially for international travelers.

We absolutely loved our stay! The breakfast options were amazing, especially the full English made with fresh, local ingredients. The warmth of the room, along with the bathrobes and slippers, made us feel right at home. Plus, the complimentary tea and coffee selection was a lovely touch, making our evenings cozy!

The location was unbeatable! Just steps away from everything in Ambleside. The decor was lovely, but the steep hill was tough after a long drive. Would definitely recommend! 🌟
